Meet the Founders
Lia Athena and Zachary J. Leong
Lia Athena is a self-published writer and background actor. Shortly after releasing Rainbow Plague to the public, she began hosting house parties and picnics to bring together people from the queer community. Since then, it has grown into an unexpectedly large group of unique and talented individuals, each with a story that Lia has enjoyed connecting with.

Zachary is an established designer and owner of Corki Designs - a small business focused on incorporating the sustainable material, cork, in all of its home decor items. His entrepreneurship passion is what led him to create Corki Designs, and is also what drove him to help Lia bring Queer Athena to life.

"Okay, well like I really did not have any friends before going to the park meetup, and now I have this whole circle of friends so my entire social life is basically all due to going to the events."

“I've not only met a lot of great people at these events, but also got to reconnect with a friend I hadn't seen since before covid.”
Our Partnerships
Our goal is to work for and with the LGBTQ+ community. To make that happen, we do our best to collaborate with other queer-owned businesses and groups from around the country as well as in our own backyard here in New York City. From manufacturing and catering to venues and like-minded organizations, we include as much representation as we can along the way.
